Welcome! I’m thrilled you’re here for the launch of Boss Moves Co. – a consultancy bringing strategy and energy to purpose-powered leaders and organizations. 

While this may be your first introduction, this business has been waiting a long time to step into the spotlight. 

It was in 2013 that I registered my business entity. Then came a decade-plus detour, as I set aside my vision to build a different business to national prominence. But more on that later…

Now twelve years of leadership experience later, I’m more prepared than ever to grow Boss Moves Co. to its fullest potential. And if you’re here, I have a feeling you’re ready for a new level of leadership, too. You’re in the right place if:

A Calling That Started Young

Like you, I’ve always felt called to something bigger. I can even pinpoint the moment.

I must have been about eight years old when I picked up an envelope (probably in the junk mail pile?) and decided its contents were for me.

Inside?

• Calamity.
• Plague and peril.
• Environmental devastation.
• Assured destruction of furry creatures everywhere.

 

What I now recognize as a generic fundraising appeal seemed, at the time, like a direct assignment. 

Wouldn’t I love to tell that 1980s copy writer they really did make an impact? Because that was the day I decided somebody needed to save the world—and that someone was me.

 

So, what’s the Co.?

If you’ve kept reading, I expect my story resonates. You’ve felt that bigger calling, too. There’s a reason you became a leader.

Let’s be real: leadership isn’t easy. If it were, you’d probably choose something simpler. Instead you may find yourself pulled in dozens of directions, called to be everything to everyone:

Yet despite supporting everyone else, there’s not often a whole lot of support for you.

In our modern workplace chatter, there seems to be endless concern about workplace pressures on the worker…but scarce empathy for the leader herself.

That’s why I founded Boss Moves Co. 

• Because I’ve been where you are. I know what it’s like to fuel the fire that keeps an organization going, while trying not to burn out myself.
• Because now, more than ever, the world needs leaders like you with the confidence and conviction to move us to a brighter day.

Fate Intervenes

There’s a little more to my story of founding Boss Moves Co. 

Back to that decade-long detour.

When I registered my business in 2013, my vision was a lot simpler. I was a successful fundraiser who’d raised millions for big nonprofits and wanted to help scrappy organizations do the same. I didn’t have the nuanced leadership perspective and deep executive experience I have now.

But fate had other plans.

Enter: a dynamic and visionary entrepreneur, who was steps ahead of me. She had already established a fundraising consulting business helping nonprofits.

• I believed in her.
• She believed in me.
• We both believed we could build something even more amazing by building it together.

 

And so we did.

For 12 years, I poured my entrepreneurial effort and energy into building that business to be the nation’s premiere grant seeking firm, rising from lead consultant to CEO.

It was an incredible journey. But not everything is meant to last forever.

• I knew it was time to lead something of my own.
• She knew it was time to lead her business to its next horizon.

 

Fortunately, when you lead with an abundant outlook, things have a way of working out for the best.
